What is MA-5754 (AlMg3) used for?

MA-5754 (AlMg3) is an aluminium welding wire with seawater-resistant weld metal, suitable for nearly colour-matched welds on anodised components. For AlMg3 base materials such as EN AW-5754, EN AW-5052 and EN AW-5454 in environments with a risk of intergranular or stress corrosion, the Mg content of the filler should match the base material – which MA-5754 does.

  • Weld metal (typical): Rm 190 MPa; Rp0.2 80 MPa; A5 20 %
  • Approvals: TÜV, Deutsche Bahn (DB)
  • Diameters: MIG wire 0.8–2.4 mm, TIG rods 1.6–5.0 mm (1,000 mm long)
  • Packaging: spools from 0.5 kg (S 100) to 40 kg (B 400); TIG rods in 2.5 kg tubes or 5/10 kg boxes
