What is MA-5087 (AlMg4.5MnZr) used for?

MA-5087 (AlMg4.5MnZr) is a high-strength aluminium welding wire whose weld metal is insensitive to hot cracking – an advantage with unfavourable clamping conditions and complex workpieces. Zirconium refines the grain and reduces the risk of hot cracking. Typical base materials: EN AW-5083 and EN AW-5086 (AlMg4.5Mn / AlMg4), EN AW-5754 and EN AW-5052 (AlMg3 / AlMg2.5), AlMgSi alloys such as EN AW-6060, EN AW-6061 and EN AW-6063, and AlZnMg alloys such as EN AW-7020.
